The Quebec-Florida Chamber of Commerce prompts Quebecers to be cautious before renting a vacation home in Florida. With the start of the high season, con artists target travellers by renting non-existent properties or properties they do not own. The victim then pays a safety deposit to secure the reservation, only to discover that the property was not for rent.

To avoid scams, 10 easy rules should always be followed by prospective renters.
